Agent rule
sync-docs.js sitemap includes essays, topic hubs, School/CDL pillars, portfolio.differentthandefault.com, and /decisions hub only. Exclude ops tools (/todo, /pipeline, /linkedin, /traffic), transparency pages (/changelog, /thinking), play routes (noindex), school form/gated pages, and individual ADR pages. sync-pipeline.js must not re-inject pipeline slugs. /people is not in the sitemap (301 → portfolio subdomain).
Status: Accepted (2026-07-07)
Context: Search Console showed 12 indexed / 38 not indexed on a 76-URL sitemap. Most noise was 31 ADR pages, internal tools, and play routes that contradicted their own noindex tags.
Decision: Trim sitemap to ~32 URLs so Google crawl budget focuses on essays and pillars. Pages remain live and linkable — they are simply not submitted for indexing.
Consequences: Resubmit sitemap in Search Console after deploy. Per-ADR pages stay public for agents but are discoverable via /decisions hub, not sitemap.
